MORNING, FREE BREAKFAST & AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
We are pleased to inform you that Millbridge Primary Academy has joined the DfE Free Breakfast Club programme. This is a government initiative providing free, healthy breakfast sessions to children. It aims to ensure pupils start the day ready to learn, improving behaviour, attendance, and boosting academic attainment.
From September 2026, your child can have a free healthy breakfast and 30 minutes free childcare before school starts, 8.15am to 8.45am. This is available to all children who are in Reception to Year 6. The Breakfast Club is free for everyone and open to all!
What are the benefits of Breakfast Clubs?
Breakfast Clubs offer much more that just food. Breakfast Clubs can help build and strengthen relationships with the wider school community - pupils and staff. They create opportunities for play, connection, and routines at the start of the day.
Benefits of a free universal breakfast club include:
- Improvements to pupils’ behaviour, attendance and attainment.
- Provide a supportive start to the day.
- Serve as a welcoming space for children, providing valuable opportunities for them to play, learn and socialise at the beginning of the school day.
- Parents have additional 30 minutes free childcare.
- Parents have reduced food costs.
- Happier mornings for everyone - reduced stress and parents have more time and increased work flexibility.
CHILDCARE ONLY ‘MORNING CLUB’ - 7.45AM TO 8.15AM DAILY
We also hold our paid ‘Morning Club', offering childcare only.
This club starts at 7.45am and childcare will be provided until 8.15am in the Hall.
This is £2.00 per day. If you want to book a place for your child on the paid ‘Morning Club’. This must be done every fortnight on Arbor.
At 8.15am, our ‘Morning Club’ children will join the children participating in the FREE SCHOOL BREAKFAST Programme and will receive a breakfast.

After School Clubs
We have a variety of free After School Clubs for everyone in school. These include different Sports Clubs, activities such as Choir, Trombone Club, Lego Club and Art Club. These are changed every half term.
