We’ve had the BEST day with our author visitor, Jason Beresford! He led a hilarious assembly for KS2, and then moved around the year groups delivering workshops. He even stayed behind after school to sign autographs for children. We are so thankful for his time. He’s made today a very special day.

In Writing, children enjoying the story of The Gruffalo. The children worked hard on describing the Gruffalo and all his amazing features. Later in the week, we had lots of fun coming up with a feast for the mouse – including a snake smoothie, fox pie, Gruffalo crumble and owl ice cream! The children showed so much imagination and came up with some fantastic ideas.
In Maths, we were finding one more and one less with numbers up to 10. We used number lines, objects, and games to help us practise.
In Geography, we made “messy maps”! We looked carefully at our classroom and then used objects to create aerial maps of the space. The children really enjoyed it, and some even carried on having a go in provision time.
In Science, we’ve been learning all about our five senses – sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. The children loved sharing ideas about how we use our senses every day and enjoyed spotting examples all around the classroom.
In PSHE, we talked about our families and friends. The children thought carefully about the special people who look after them and make them feel happy, and we also discussed what makes a good friend in school.
We all had a fun week!
